An official source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry affirmed on Wednesday the Syrian government’s keenness on achieving stability in the city of Aleppo and delivering humanitarian aid to the city’s neighborhoods.
In a statement to SANA, the source said that the Syrian government is doing its best in order to stabilize the situation in Aleppo city, noting that it has been arranged to transport civilians as well as the injured persons with no restrictions, with ensuring the exit of gunmen with their arms without hindrance from the eastern parts of the city.
“In order to improve the situation in the city, units of the Syrian Arab Army are implementing cessation of hostilities for specified periods, and vehicles were equipped to transport the wounded and civilians from the area of hostilities, in addition to the delivery of humanitarian aid,” the source added.
The source said that units of the Syrian army have withdrawn in some parts to allow the gunmen to leave the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo via two passages.
The source confirmed that the amnesty decree issued by President Bashar al-Assad is still valid.
The source concluded by stating that under these circumstances, Arab, Western, regional countries who are keen on stability in Aleppo city should take real political steps, not resort to political procrastination.
