Deputy Commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Brigadier General Hossein Salami said Thursday that the defense power of the IRGC will continue to increase under sanctions.
Iran’s defense power has magnified during sanctions era, General Salami told IRNA on Thursday.
“Our defense and military sector was sanctioned from the outset of the [1979] Islamic Revolution,” the Iranian general said.
“Everything you see today contributing to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s defense power has been achieved under sanctions by Iranian experts and by relying on domestic potentials,” he added.
The growth of Iran’s defense power is completely domestic-oriented, the commander highlighted.
“Undoubtedly, the defense capability of the Islamic Republic of Iran and, consequently, that of IRGC, will continue to increase.”
