Syrian army entered the city of Daraa on Thursday, Reuters news agency reported.
Syrian state vehicles, accompanied by Russian military police, entered an area of Daraa city Thursday that has been under terrorists’ control for years to raise the national flag, Reuter reported citing witnesses.
Cranes from the state-run Daraa municipal council erected a flag pole near a mosque in the city, according to the agency.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah’s Military Media Center quoted the mayor of Daraa as saying that 80 percent of the city was liberated “either through military operations or through reconciliations.”
The Syrian army and allies have been for more than two weeks engaged in military operations to liberate the southern city and the area surrounding from foreign-backed terrorist.
