Iranian officials told a delegation representing Hamas, that the Palestinian nation is to secure the final victory against the Zionist entity, warning the Palestinian resistance movement against Israeli divisive plots.
Ali Akbar Velayati, an international adviser to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, said that Palestine is still the most important issue in the Islamic world despite attempts at making concessions.
“The final victory definitely belongs to the Palestinian people and fighters,” Velayati said in a Saturday meeting with Deputy Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau Saleh al-Arouri and the accompanying delegation in Tehran.
Heading a delegation, al-Arouri has traveled to the Iranian capital to sit down with senior Iranian officials and discuss the latest developments on the Palestinian arena, especially the reconciliation file, as well as bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, called on Hamas to maintain its leading role in countering the Zionist regime of Israel’s occupation.
Shamkhani also reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to supporting the cause of Palestine, saying Tehran embraces the figures that pursue the goal of liberating Palestine.
Condemning the US and Israeli attempts to foment tensions in the region, Shamkhani said any move to downplay the issue of Palestine –the Muslim world’s top priority- or to support the idea of compromise with the Zionist entity will be an “unforgivable treason” against Muslims.
For his part, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani cautioned the Palestinian groups about enemies’ continued efforts to provoke division among Resistance forces.
“From the very first days, the Zionist regime has tried to remove the resistance forces; what is important is that Palestinian groups end their differences and unite against the Israeli regime,” Larijani told the meeting on Saturday.
“Enemies have tried to remove you (Palestinian resistance groups) or portray you as an ineffective group,” Larijani said, adding, “You should not allow them to be successful in their divisive move.”
On the other hand, Al-Arouni thanked Iran for its continued support for the Palestinian cause, saying, “…we are certain that the issue of Palestine is still of paramount importance for the Islamic Republic”.
Pointing to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statement about the reconciliation deal between Fatah and Hamas, he said no one could force Hamas to disarm or recognize the occupation entity.
He added that the presence of a Hamas delegation in the Islamic Republic also rejects the idea that we want to sever our ties with Iran.
