Six Palestinians were injured on Wednesday evening when Israeli occupation forces surrounded a house on Al-Rahebat Street in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. This occurred as part of a large-scale raid carried out by forces from several directions.
Local sources reported that an Israeli special forces force infiltrated Al-Rahebat Street and surrounded the house before storming the area with a large number of military jeeps, firing tear gas and sound bombs at residents in the surrounding streets and the Shuhada Square area.
The raid escalated as occupation soldiers fired tear gas and sound bombs towards residents in the surrounding streets and Shuhada Square, causing panic and leading to the injuries. Local sources added that the occupation forces also surrounded the Nablus Municipality Fire Department building, forcibly removing the young men inside. In a further escalation, occupation troops raided the headquarters of the Palestinian Workers’ Unions, conducting field investigations with those present.
Arrests in Overnight Sweeps
The violence in Nablus was followed by a series of additional Israeli incursions overnight. In a significant move, occupation forces arrested Murad Shteiwi, a prominent figure who serves as the coordinator of the Popular Resistance and director of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission. Shteiwi was taken from his home during a raid on the town of Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya.
The Israeli operations extended to other areas, including the towns of Sanniriya, south of Qalqilya, and Beit Ummar, north of Hebron. In Beit Ummar, the occupation forces arrested former prisoner Bahjat Yamin, marking another arrest in the ongoing Israeli campaign in the territory.
