An Israeli act of aggression targeted on Monday afternoon the headquarters of Iranian consulate  in Mezzeh neighborhood in the Syrian capital Damascus.

SANA reported that the aggression left martyrs and injuries and caused massive destruction to the building and damage to neighboring buildings.

The Syrian army air defenses repelled some of the Israeli agression’s missiles.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) confirmed that two of its generals and five other military advisers have been martyred in the missile attack.

In a statement on Monday night, the IRGC said the “fake Zionist regime” has committed the crime of attacking Iran’s consulate in Damascus after its irreparable defeats against the Palestinian resistance.

Syrian Ministry of Defense: At around 17:00 this evening, the “Israeli” enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, targeting the building of the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Our air defense intercepted the aggression’s missiles, downing some of them. The aggression resulted in the complete destruction of the building and the martyrdom and injury of all those inside. Efforts are underway to retrieve the martyrs’ bodies, provide medical assistance to the wounded, and clear the rubble.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad from the Iranian Embassy headquarter in Damascus said that the Israeli occupation entity will not be able to affect relations between Iran and Syria.
