Israeli government representatives come under attack over the fact that they have not been present at burials of military personnel killed in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Israeli media reported.
The Times of Israel reported that the “non-stop funerals for soldiers and settlers are continuing to take place day and night.”
It added that Israeli ministers “take heat for staying away” from the funerals, noting that participation of the occupation government’s representative is considered “normally a requirement.”
According to Kan, the government’s response was that the requirement is suspended during times of war, though the answer has failed to stop the criticism.
At a funeral for Yaron Shai, son of former economy minister Izhar Shai, Yaron’s brother Ofir slings harsh criticism at the “government of shame,” in a video shared by Channel 13 reporter Raviv Drucker.
“My little brother was killed by murderous terrorists filled with hate, and the one who opened the door for them, with its debased actions, was the government of Israel,” he said according to the report.
