In recent weeks, Zionist settlers have been increasing their violent attacks against Palestinians in various villages and towns throughout the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds (Jerusalem). These attacks have been backed by ministers in the Israeli occupation government and protected by the Israeli army.
On Friday, two Palestinian youths were shot and wounded by live bullets while four others were arrested during a raid by Israeli occupation forces into the Askar refugee camp in Nablus. The occupation forces also searched the homes of Palestinians in the area and made further arrests.
In another attack on Thursday evening, Zionist settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles in Bethlehem and citizens in the towns of Silwan and Jabal Mukaber in occupied Jerusalem, causing injuries. The settlers also smashed windows of vehicles near Nahalin, west of Bethlehem.
Clashes broke out with the occupation forces in Jabal al-Mukaber in Jerusalem as well, with the forces firing sound and gas bombs at the citizens. The Palestine Red Crescent Society announced that five people were injured as a result of the occupation forces and settlers attacking the people in Silwan.
Residents of the town of Turmusaya in Ramallah also responded to an attack by settlers on their town, which had experienced violent confrontations on Wednesday. Palestinian sources reported that the residents forced the attackers to flee after confronting them, as they had intended to burn the citizens’ property.
These escalating attacks are a cause of great concern for the Palestinian community and have resulted in numerous injuries and arrests. The international community has been urged to take action in order to address these ongoing violations of Palestinian rights.
