Hezbollah hailed Indonesia for refusing the participation of ‘Israel’ in Under-20 Men’s World Cup on its territory scheduled for May.
In a statement, Hezbollah’s Media Relations office praised Indonesia and one of its regional leaders who requested that the Zionist entity be banned from competing in the province of Bali.
Soccer’s world governing body FIFA has stripped Indonesia of its right to host the youth tournament later in May after Wayan Koster, governor of the resort island of Bali, objected to the participation of ‘Israel’.
In the statement, Hezbollah also hailed “the patriotic stance” of Lebanese athlete Mazen Shreim who pulled out from the World Masters Athletics Indoor Championship to avoid being in same group with an Israeli.
“Such lose is more significant than shaking hands with the enemy,” the statement read.
Hezbollah stressed in this context that such popular and individual stances represent Muslim and Arab Ummah’s (nation) awareness and rejection of normalizing ties with the Israeli enemy.”
“Hezbollah is proud of such courageous stance despite risks of being stripped from exercising their competing rights.”
