Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah this week delivered messages to both the Zionist entity and the Lebanese government on Lebanon’s maritime wealth during the electoral ceremonies held in Beirut’s Dahiyeh and the country’s south on Tuesday and Monday.
The Lebanese Resistance leader stressed that one of the major measures that should be taken by the Lebanese government in a bid to cope with the economic crisis is to rely on the revenues from investing in the country’s offshore resources.
Sayyed Nasrallah said that Lebanon is “rich and strong”, wondering why the Lebanese decision makers have been turning into beggars and sitting on the doorstep of the International Monetary Fund which imposes humiliating conditions on the country?
Relying on logical demonstration, as usual, his eminence urged the Lebanese government, especially that will be formed following the parliamentary elections, to “dare” to hold biddings for international companies to start oil and gas drilling off the Lebanese shore.
Touching upon the obstacles hindering the Lebanese government from taking such a step, Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated the Resistance’s promise to defend Lebanese resources against Israeli threats.
He addressed those who are “frightened” by Israeli threats, stressing that the Resistance is capable of defending the Lebanese maritime wealth.
“I assure you that there are international companies that agree to drill in the Lebanese offshore. I don’t want to hear that Israel is preventing us to do so. Today, I’m addressing the Lebanese people: You have a strong Resistance that is capable to prevent the Israeli drilling, which is taking place in the day and the night, if the Zionist regime threatens Lebanon to drill off its shore.”
Sayyed Nasrallah didn’t forget, here, to stress that Hezbollah won’t take the role of the Lebanese government in the US-sponsored indirect talks between Lebanon and the Zionist entity on the demarcation of the Lebanese maritime borders.
Sayyed Nasrallah’s remarks on Tuesday and Monday were both a threat to the enemy and a roadmap to the Lebanese government.
The threat to the Zionist entity is clear: Lebanon can drill off its shore even in the disputed area, just like the enemy is doing, and the Resistance is capable to confront the Israeli threats.
Meanwhile, the message to the Lebanese government amounts to a roadmap that prioritize the oil and gas drilling in a bid to cope with the harsh economic crisis Lebanon witnessing.
