Syrian air defenses confronted an Israeli missile aggression on the vicinity of the capital, Damascus, Syrian media reported on Monday.
SANA news agency said the attack was from the direction of Riyaq, east of Beirut, adding that the Syrian air defenses downed some of the hostile missiles.
“At about 03:05 a.m. on Monday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression with bursts of missiles from the direction of Riyaq, east of Beirut, targeting some points in the vicinity of Damascus, and our air defenses intercepted the hostile missiles and downed some of them,” the Syrian agency quoted a military source as saying.
The attack caused material damage to the area, the source added.
