Governor of Yemen’s Saada said on Tuesday that the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) had visited the prison in Saada, stressing that the Saudi-led coalition carried out the massacre there knowing that it was a jail.
In remarks quoted by Yemen’s Al-Massirah TV, Mohammad Jaber Awad lashed out at the aggression powers over the horrible massacre which targeted Saada prison last week, killing or injuring hundreds of people.
“We call for the formation of an international investigation committee and the punishment of the criminals,” Awad said.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni governor hailed the “Yemen’s Tornado-2 Op.”, stressing that it “represents a legitimate retaliation” for massacres in the Arab impoverished country.
Earlier on Tuesday, Taha Al-Mutawakkil, Health Minister in Sanaa’s salvation government, put the toll of Saada prison massacre at 91 martyrs and 236 injured.
He added that at least 150 Yemenis were martyred only in January 2022, and the 350 others have been injured in this month.
