Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said on Friday that delivering Iranian fuel to Lebanon will take some time, as he lashed out at the Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh over decision to end fuel subsidy earlier this week.
In an interview with Al-Nour radio station, Sheikh Qassem said: “Yes to providing Iranian fuel, but this move takes some time,” hoping it will be fruitful.
He stressed that Salameh bears responsibility over the hard economic conditions in Lebanon, calling for holding him accountable. In this context, he noted that forensic audit must take place in order to hold accountable all those responsible for the situation in the country.
Sheikh Qassem also called for guiding the issue if subsidies in order to get along with the people’s needs and abilities, stressing in this context that the only solution is to form the new government.
“Forming a government is much better that staying in vacuum,” he told Al-Nour radio.
On the ambush which killed three people in Khalde nearly two weeks ago, Sheikh Qassem stressed that criminals must be punished and that the case if followed up with the security apparatus in the country.
Tackling his latets visit to the Islamic Republic, Sheikh Qassem stressed that new Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi views the Resistance as an exceptional model in Lebanon and the region, and that Tehran will stay beside the Resistance with all its capabilities.
