Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, arrived on Tuesday in Beirut to meet with the senior Lebanese officials.
Upon arrival, Al-Thani visited Baabda Palace and met with President Michel Aoun, announcing that Qatar would fund repairing the publuc schools and a number of hospitals affected by Beirut blast.
Later on, the Qatari top diplomat moved to meet House Speaker Nabih Berri, Caretaker PM Hassan Diab and Caretaker Foreign Minister Sharbel Wehbe.
Al-Thani offered condolences to the Lebanese officials over the human losses caused by Beirut blast, discussing with them the aids which Qatar can provide Lebanon with.
Two massive blasts rocked Beirut’s Port on August 4, killing around 180 people and injuring more than 6000 of others. The big explosion also obliterated the port and damaged a large number of building s in the capital and its suburbs.
