Hezbollah Deputy Chief Sheikh Naim Qassem offered condolences over the death of Islamic Jihad Palestinian Resistance movement’s former Secretary General Ramadan Abdallah Shallah.
In remarks to Al-Manar late Monday, Sheikh Qassem praised Shallah as devoted and sincere, adding: “His history had nothing but Jihad and Palestine.”
Shallah had repeatedly called for Palestinian and Islamic unity, stressing that the Resistance and Palestine should be a priority, Sheikh Qassem added.
“According to Shallah, Palestinian Resistance should be priority and should be offered support,” he added.
Last Saturday, Shallah died at age of 62 following a long illness. He was laid to rest Sunday in the Syrian capital, Damascus.
Shallah was one of the founders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement. He led the movement for more than 20 years, after its founder, Fathi Shaghaghi, was assassinated in Malta in 1995.
