The number of coronavirus patients recovering and being released from the hospital in Iran has exceeded 27,000 as of Tuesday.
In remarks at a daily press conference on Tuesday, Ian’s Health Ministry Spokesman Kianoosh Jahanpoor said the number of people tested positive for COVID-19 across the country has risen to 62,589 following the detection of 2,089 new cases since Monday noon, Tasnim news agency reported.
He said that 27,039 coronavirus patients have recovered from the disease so far and have been discharged from the hospital. The percentage of recovered people reaches 43%.
According to Jahanpoor, the coronavirus death toll in Iran now stands at 3,872 after 133 patients lost their lives during the past 24 hours.
Among the coronavirus patients undergoing treatment in the hospital at present, 3,987 have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, the spokesman added.
More than 1,356,000 people have been infected with COVID-19 globally, and the death toll has exceeded 75,000.
