Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei praised Iranian health authorities and personnel for their efforts to contain the novel coronavirus epidemic in the country.
In a meeting with the head of Iran’s Academy of Medical Sciences on Thursday, Imam Khamenei expressed gratitude to the health minister, his colleagues, Iranian doctors, nurses, medical staff and all personnel involved in the health services for the battle with the coronavirus disease.
“Your work is really valuable,” the Leader said, adding that such activities have raised the value of the job of physicians and nurses, Tasnim news agency reported.
Ayatollah Khamenei went on to say that what is more important about the activities of the medics is the definite reward from God.
According to Iran’s Health Ministry, the number of people who have died from the coronavirus in the country has risen to 26 and the total number of confirmed cases to 245.
Authorities in Tehran also said that at least 54 patients in Iran have recovered from the disease so far.
