As the Bahrainis mark the eighth anniversary of the popular movement against the repression exercised by the regime against the citizens, the Zionist media highlighted the strength of the ties between ‘Israel’ and the Gulf Kingdom.
The Israeli media revealed that the Bahraini King Hamad bin Issa met with the Israeli president (Shemon Peres at that time) in 2009 and that the foreign minister Khaled bin Ahmad met with his Zionist counterpart Tsippy Livny in 2017 and informed her that bin Issa would like to establish diplomatic ties with the entity.
The Israeli reports added that the PM Benjamin Netanyahu played a basic role in supporting the Bahraini regime in its campaign against the peaceful protests, rebroadcasting his speeches in which he highlighted his support to bin Issa’s measures.
On February 14, 2011, the Bahrainis started peaceful protests against the repressive measures of the regime whose forces have always assaulted the protestors although their demands centered around achieving democracy, freedom and political partnership.
