Palestinian teenager succumbed to wounds sustained by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza’s Deir Al-Balah on Tuesday, Palestinian sources said.
Seventeen-year-old Montaser Mohamed Ismail al-Baz was martyred due to wounds he sustained earlier today by Israeli army gunfire near the eastern border of Bureij Palestinian refugee camp in the center of the enclave,” Ashraf al-Qidra, Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman, said in a statement.
In an earlier statement, the ministry announced that al-Baz was seriously injured in the head, along with six other Palestinians during clashes witth occupation forces.
Since Return Marches began on March 30, more than 200 Palestinians have been martyred near the border with occupied territories by Israeli army gunfire. Thousands more have been also injured.
Protesters demand the right to return to their homes and villages, from which they were driven during the occupation of Palestine in 1948.
They also demand an end to 12-year Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has gutted the coastal enclave’s economy and deprived its 2 million inhabitants of many basic commodities.
