Lebanese President Michel Aoun stressed on Monday that stability of Lebanon is a red line that cannot be crossed, ahead of a visit to Kuwait.
Talking to Kuna news agency ahead of the visit on Tuesday, President Aoun underlined that the ties between Lebanon and Kuwait are “historic, strong and steady.”
He said that the message he will carry to Kuwait won’t differ from those he held to countries he had visited since his election in November 2016.
President Aoun hailed the stable situation in Lebanon, saying it “proves that Lebanon’s stability is a red line that cannot be crossed.”
On the other hand, President Aoun pointed to the issue of Syrian refugees as a critical one, noting that Lebanon doesn’t have the capacity for the huge number of refugees which surpasses 1,800,000.
President Aoun’s visit to Kuwait was initially scheduled in November 2017. However, it was delayed because of the shock resignation by Prime Minister Saad Hariri from Riyadh.
