Iranian President Hasan Rouhani stressed that the issue of terrorism as a threat to all countries, noting that Tehran and Ankara can play a leading role in fight against terrorism in the region.
In a meeting with with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday, Rouhani said: “‘Terrorism endangers both world and region.”
As for Tehran-Ankara relations, he said Iran “will always stand by its friendly and brotherly country of Turkey,” IRNA news agency reported.
Iran is ready to develop ties with Turkey in all areas, energy, transportation and industry in particular, he added.
President Rouhani stressed that private sectors of the two sides need more support to develop bilateral cooperation.
Onthe July 15 aborted military coup in Turkey, President Rouhani said that Tehran was deeply unhappy with the event.
He stressed that from the very first moments of the event, Iran used all within its reach to help restore stability and security to Turkey.
