Iran warned on Monday its response to new US anti-Iran measures will be harsh.
“We hope the US administration would not make such strategic mistake and stop continuing on its wrong path,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Qasemi said at his weekly press briefing.
Qasemi was referring to the IRGC commander’s recent remarks that “If reports on the US decision to enlist Iran’s IRGC as a terrorist group happen to be true, the Iranian force would also treat the American Army everywhere in the world and especially in the Middle East in the same way it deals with Daesh (ISIS) terrorists.”
I think the United States should accept the consequences of its wrong decisions, Qasemi stressed.
“I hope people in the United States, who follow common sense, take appropriate measures and try to stop such dangerous decisions.”
Major General Mohammad Ali Jaafari, commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), noted on October 8 that “Implementation of the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) is tantamount to US unilateral walking away from Iran nuclear deal.”
