The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc emphasized on Thursday that Lebanon and the region are under an escalating aggressive campaign led by the US and ‘Israel’, with the participation of governments, regimes.
Hezbollah Parliamentary Bloc held its periodic meeting under the chairmanship of MP Mohammad Raad, and discussed several political and parliamentary issues related to Lebanon, Palestine, and the region.
Upon the meeting, the bloc issued the following statement:
Lebanon and the region are under an escalating aggressive campaign led by the US and ‘Israel’, with the participation of governments, regimes, and Arab and Lebanese parties. This campaign uses financial strangulation, economic blockade, and pressure, and exploits massive media capabilities to target the people’s awareness and deprive them of their right to resistance.
The bloc condemns the escalation of crimes and assassinations against Lebanese citizens, the latest of which targeted the Lebanese army and civilians in the town of Blida. It also condemns the international silence towards these aggressions and the Lebanese authorities’ failure to take effective measures to stop them.
The bloc emphasizes the need to hold parliamentary elections on the scheduled date, through the existing electoral law, to ensure the regularity of the general situation and to renew political life. It also stresses the importance of preventing any attempts to disrupt this process.
The bloc strongly condemns the escalating campaign by the Lebanese Forces Party against Speaker Nabih Berri, and sees it as an attempt to monopolize power and undermine the constitution. It expresses its full solidarity with Speaker Berri and his stance in preserving national interests and ensuring equality and justice for all.
The bloc welcomes the President’s stance on the disruption of parliamentary sessions and calls on all officials to prioritize national responsibility and the need to hold elections on time.
Finally, the bloc emphasizes the need to expedite the implementation of the reconstruction program and provide compensation for the damages suffered by Lebanese citizens due to the Israeli aggression.
