Tens of thousands of Yemenis took part on Monday in the funeral of martyred Major General Mohammad Abd Al-Karim Al-Ghamari, Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces in Sanaa.
Maj. Gen. Al-Ghamari was martyred in Israeli airstrikes along with Yemeni prime minister, defense minister and several other ministers last August.
Crowds flocked to Sabeen Square in the capital, Sanaa, carrying pictures in an awe-inspiring scene that expressed the Yemeni people’s loyalty to the commander who had significant contributions to build the armed forces in Yemen.
“The scene was not merely a farewell to the martyr, but rather a renewal of the pledge and loyalty to the values of jihad and resistance,” Al-Massirah TV reported.

“Funeral Historic Milestone”
Yemen’s Mufrti Sayyed Shams Al-Din Sharaf Al-Din addressed the crowds at the funeral, calling for confronting the collaborators with the US and Israeli enemies.
“Remaining silent about criminals and those who collude with the nation’s enemies is religious and national treason,” Sayyed Sharaf Al-Din stated.
For his part, Mohammad Ahmad Muftah, the acting Prime Minister in Sanaa government, praised the “great faith-driven and jihadi stance embodied by the martyr” Al-Ghamari.
“Today we bid farewell to one of the great men of this nation — a man distinguished by purity of intention, sincerity, and noble purpose,” Muftah said in a speech during the funeral ceremony.
He affirmed that the mass funeral “represents a historic milestone, reflecting the people’s loyalty to their great men and their sincere commitment to the cause of martyrdom and victory.”
