Families of Israeli captives block a highway in Tel Aviv, slamming Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over delay in reaching a deal to release the remaining Israelis held with the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.
Israeli media reported on Tuesday that families of the Israeli captives and their supporters blocked the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv.
Protesters carry banners reading, “There is no reckless agreement, only abandonment,” and “Netanyahu is burying the hostages.”

Frustration and anger have been on the rise among the families of the captives. Earlier last week, the Israeli occupation army extracted the bodies of six Israelis from Gaza’s Khan Younis and brought them in the occupied territories for burial.
After nearly eleven months of war, more than 100 Israelis are still in Gaza, many of them already known to be dead. As a result, despair has given way to anger at the Hostages Square demonstrations in Tel Aviv.
On Sunday, Israeli Channel 12 aired a third leaked audio recording featuring Netanyahu in conversation with the released captives and the families of those still held in Gaza, where the attendees questioned why the talks that did not center on securing a deal with Hamas.
Netanyahu could be heard in the recording focusing his rhetoric on “defeating” Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran. This prompted some of the families to denounce the lack of discussion on releasing the captives.
In the recording, one of the former captives questioned whether the war was being prioritized over their release, to which the Israeli PM responded by suggesting that she “wasn’t listening” closely enough to him.
Netanyahu then argued to the released captives that the “very future of Israel is in question.”
