A Palestinian was martyred and two Israelis were injured in a stabbing attack at the “tunnels” checkpoint at the entrance to Al-Quds (Jerusalem), Israeli media reported.
Israeli occupation police said a 15-year-old Palestinian arrived at the checkpoint from the West Bank side on a bicycle, and as Israeli security forces attempted to question him he drew a knife and stabbed them.
An Israeli guard at the checkpoint attempted to physically confront the stabber, before occupation troops stationed in the area opened fire at him, the occupation police added.
Palestinian media reported that the attacker was martyred. He was later identified as Mohammad Aby Hamed, 15, from the West Bank town of al-Khader, close to the checkpoint.
