Describing Oman as a reliable friend of Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-abdollahian highlighted the significant impacts that the Omani Sultan’s visit to Tehran will have on the promotion of mutual cooperation.
In a telephone conversation on Thursday, Amir-abdollahian and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr al-Busaidi talked about various issues concerning the relations between Tehran and Muscat.
Iran always regards Oman as a reliable neighbor and friend, the Iranian foreign minister said.
He also noted that a visit to Iran by Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said will strengthen and cement the growing relations between the two states.
For his part, the top Omani diplomat emphasized that cooperation among the regional countries will shorten the long road leading to regional development.
On February 21, an Iranian lawmaker quoted Foreign Minister Amir-abdollahian as saying at a parliamentary meeting that the Sultan of Oman will visit Tehran in the near future with “good news” as his country is exchanging messages between Iran and the US in the course of nuclear talks with the purpose of reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.
