Three Israeli were wounded, one critically, in a shooting in Tel Aviv on Thursday night, Israeli media reported.
Israeli occupation police said the shooter opened fire at Israelis sitting outside a cafe on the corner of Dizengoff Street and Ben Gurion Street.
He then fled the scene while shooting at others in the area, before being shot dead in a shootout with police officers, The Times of Israel reported
One of the injured was listed in critical condition, while the other two were listed in serious and moderate condition, Israeli media reported, citing Israeli Magen David Adom ambulance service.
The shooter was is identified as 23-year-old Mutaz Salah al-Khawaja, a Palestinian from the West Bank town of Ni’lin, Palestinian and Israeli media reported, noting that al-Khawaja is affiliated with Hamas resistance group.
Commenting on the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on an official visit to Rome, wished “a speedy recovery to the wounded” in a video statement.
Meanwhile on Thursday evening, an infiltration alert was given in the so-called settlement of Beitar Illit, west of Bethlehem, Israeli media reported.
The Israeli occupation military’s Homefront Command “ordered residents in the area to stay indoors and wait for further instructions,” according to The Jerusalem Post.
The alert was given after a suspicious bag was found on a bus in Beitar Illit, KAN News reported, adding that the bag “gave off smoke and was neutralized by a bomb squad.”
