Palestine is the 33rd country of the World Cup Qatar 2022, Brazilian newspaper O Globo’s Ge Globo sports news site wrote about the oppressed Arab nation whose flag was raised during games held in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Ge Globo’s Por Daniel Mundim wrote an article, during the weekend, entitled “Arab Nations Embrace Palestine in Qatar: 33rd World Cup country”
“A huge banner was extended on the shoulders of the stadium, which received the game against Australia, with the message: ‘Free Palestine’. A nation, which fights for a recognition that has never seen football, is the one that unites the Arab countries in the World Cup,” Mundim wrote in his article.
The sports journalists asked a number of Arab fans at the game held last Saturday about Palestine.
“Palestine is the 33rd country in the World Cup. Palestine exists. That’s what we want to show. Palestine is there, we love Palestine, Palestine is in our blood,” said Adham Ammar, an Egyptian fan.
