Islamic Jihad Palestinian resistance movement stressed that the spirit of resistance won’t be put out in the West Bank.
On the first anniversary of Gilboa jailbreak, the Islamic Jihad movement said the operation has made a shift in the struggle against the Israeli enemy.
“The rise in operations against Israeli enemy in the West Bank demonstrates the great effect of the operation carried by the six heroes,” the resistance movement said in a statement.
Mahmoud Al-Arda, Yaqoub Qadri, Mohammad Al-Arda, Zakaria Zubeidi, Ayham Kamamji and Munadel Infaiaat escaped Gilboa prison on September 6, 2021, through a tunnel they dug under the prison floor.
Although they were re-arrested by occupation forces days after being at large, Gilboa jailbreak has been a symbol of freedom for Palestinians and pro-resistance activists worldwide.
The first anniversary of the jailbreak operation coincides with victory secured by hunger striker Khalil Awawdeh as well as by protests carried out by Palestinian prisoners at Israeli jails, the Islamic Jihad said in the statement.
The movement hailed Palestinian prisoners over sacrifices offered by “those heroes.”
“Such sacrifices represent an advanced state of engagement with the Zionist enemy,” it added.
