The Kremlin on Wednesday responded to an Israeli offer to host a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
Such a meeting “would need a tangible reason”, the Kremlin said as quoted by Reuters news agency, as the war between the countries nears the closing of its second month.
Earlier, the Zionist entity voiced readiness to host a possible meeting between Putin and Zelensky of Ukraine.
“Certainly,” he said in response to a question. “However, they (Putin and Zelensky) need to make a decision,” Israeli Ambassador to Russia Alexander Ben Zvi said in an interview with TASS.
According to him, Tel Aviv would consider it “a great honor” to host possible talks between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents. “We will be happy to host such a meeting in Jerusalem,” Ben Zvi noted.
He also pointed out that the delegations of Russia and Ukraine could also hold meetings in Al-Quds. “What was done in Turkey can also be done in our country,” the Israeli ambassador said.
