The Iranian foreign minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, stressed on Thursday that had not the Resistance and fighters been there, ISIL and other terrorist organizations would have controlled the entire region.
After meeting his Lebanese counterpart, Abdollah Bou Habib, in Beirut, Abdollahian highlighted the vitality of the Lebanese society verified by the parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, Abdollahian said that Iran welcomes the restoration of the diplomatic ties between the Islamic Republic and Saudi Arabia, calling on the United States to approve a strong nuclear deal.
Abdollahian, who had arrived in Beirut on the same day, met also with Speaker Nabih Berri and PM Najib Mikati.
