Earlier today, EU Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrel wrote on his Twitter account that “a pause in #ViennaTalks is needed, due to external factors”.
He added that “a final text is essentially ready and on the table. As coordinator, I will, with my team, continue to be in touch with all #JCPOA participants and the US to overcome the current situation and to close the agreement”.
Meantime, according to a source close to the Iranian negotiating team in Vienna, Austria, the announced pause in the negotiations is on the recommendation of the JCPOA coordinator, and the parties intend to continue the process after this break.
