Senior foreign officials, prominent figures, and regional resistance leaders offered congratulations to Ebrahim Raisi, after election results declared him as the winner of Iran’s 2021 presidential election.
Raisi was announced on Saturday as the winner of the June 18 presidential election in Iran, scoring 17,926,345 of votes. Raisi obtained 17,926,345 votes out of the total 28,933,004 ballots, being elected as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Shortly after the early results were out, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei urged the president-elect and those elected as village and city councilors in Friday’s nationwide elections to take the chance to serve the Iranian nation.
In a message, published as the results of Friday elections were out, Ayatollah Khamenei also hailed the massive turnout of people.
Emir of Kuwait Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Saturday in a message congratulated Raisi’s election and wished success and prosperity for him and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Crown Prince of Kuwait, Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah sent a similar note to the president-elect, expressing hope for closer ties between the two neighboring nations.
Iraqi President Barham Salih and Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi felicitated Raisi on securing an overwhelming majority of the votes cast in the Friday election.
Secretary-general of Iraq’s Al-Nujaba resistance movement, Sheikh Akram al-Ka’abi, sent a similar note to the president-elect, expressing hope for closer ties between the two neighboring nations during Raisi’s term.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also in a message, congratulated Raisi’s election in the Friday election.
Aliyev in his message referring to relations between the two countries, said that the Republic of Azerbaijan terms special importance to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He expressed hope that the two nations would keep moving toward closer constructive and strategic cooperation.
