President of Iran Hassan Rouhani congratulated Palestine on a major victory against the Zionist regime that is armed to the teeth, denouncing many Arab governments for remaining silent on the Israeli atrocities in a full-blown war that united all Palestinian people.
In comments on Saturday, Rouhani lauded the Palestinian nation for their steadfastness, resistance and fortitude and congratulated them on a major victory against the Zionist regime which is armed to the teeth and receives support from the West, including the US and Europe.
“Gaza’s decisive response to the Zionist aggression marked a great victory for the people of Palestine,” the Iranian president said, adding that 12 days of full-blown war between the Palestinian Muslims and the Israeli regime united all people of Palestine, from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip.
He also deplored the Western governments for adopting improper stances on the recent conflict, saying also that the Arab world was expected to behave more actively while many of them remained silent until the final days of the Israeli attacks on Gaza.
The Israeli regime announced a unilateral ceasefire starting at 2 am on Friday, which was accepted by the Palestinian resistance groups in Gaza with Egyptian mediation.
The Israeli aggression on Gaza, which began on May 10, killed at least 243 Palestinians and wounded more than 1,900 others. The aggression had started after weeks of Israeli harassment of Palestinians in Jerusalem al-Quds and attempts to steal Palestinian lands in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of the city.
