Well-informed sources told Al-Manar TV Channel that the cabinet formation in Lebanon may witness a considerable progress, without clarifying the specific conditions of the government creation process.
In this regard, sources close to the House Speaker Nabih Berri informed Al-Manar that the achieved progress is insufficient, adding that extra efforts would be exerted to facilitate the formation of the new government.
The sources added that the French officials decided to adopt Speaker Berri’s initiative, based on forming a 24-member government without granting the blocking third to any party, and invited representatives of some Lebanese parties to hold more discussions in Paris.
All in all, the Lebanese cabinet formation has not surpassed all the obstacles despite the caution progress and positive intentions determined to reach a solution.
On Since October 22, 2020, the prime minister-designate, Saad Hariri, was tasked to form the new government after he was nominated by 65 MPs during the parliamentary consultations held by President Michel Aoun.
