The Lebanese ministry of public health issued on Friday its daily report in which it announced 2963 new coronavirus cases, 2962 of them for locals and one for an arrival, raising total to 471962.
The report added that 21489 PCR tests were conducted during the past 48 hours, adding that the number of cases of recovery from the coronavirus rose to 377136.
According to the report, 60 new coronavirus-related death cases were registered, which raised toll to 6346.
Lebanon has continued the anti-coronavirus vaccination campaign across all the provinces as the batches of Pfizer vaccines are scheduled to arrive in Beirut on a weekly basis. In this context, the report noted that 157999 citizens received the first shot Pfizer vaccine, adding that the second shot have been given to 87702 of them.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese authorities have decided a three-day total lockdown during the Easter holiday (April 3 – 5) in order to prevent any surge in the coronavirus cases.
