Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Hamad Hssan, and his Iraqi counterpart, Hasan Al-Tamimi, on Thursday visited Al-Rassoul Al-Aazam Hospital, accompanied by the President of the Republic’s health affairs advisor, Walid Khoury.
The pair had earlier been to Rafik Hariri University Hospital, accompanied by Iraqi Ambassador Amin Al-Nasrawi.
Al-Tamimi hailed the efforts exerted by the health system in Lebanon in face of the pandemic, expressing tendency to benefit from the Lebanese expertise to reinforce the medical services in Iraq.
Al-Tamimi arrived on Wednesday in Beirut to meet senior officials and conclude an agreement according to which the two countries exchange medical and economic services.
The Iraqi minister held meetings with Lebanese President Michel Aoun and Lebanese counterpart Hamad Hasan on Thursday, as he pledged to offer aid to Lebanon.
In a meeting with President Aoun at Baabda Presidential Palace, the Iraqi minister said there is a decision by Baghdad to offer support to Lebanon, especially in the medical and health level.
