Iran’s Secretary of the Expediency Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stressed Monday during an interview with Al-Manar TV Channel that timing the military response to the crime of assassinating the martyr General Qassem Suleimani, the former IRGC’s Quds Force Chief, is planned by the Islamic Republic.
Rezaei considered that since the US outgoing President Donald Trump decided to revoke the nuclear deal, we have been in an open confrontation, recalling the shooting down of the US drone and seizing the UK ship.
The Iranian official added that the US-Israeli enemy boasts killing the martyr General Suleimani, confirming that Iran will respond to that crime.
Rezaei, however, added that the timing of the response is decided by the Iranian leadership which takes includes all the strategic considerations in the plan, noting that the presidential change in the United States does not alter Iran’s strategies.
It is worth noting that General Suleimani embraced martyrdom on January 3, 2020, in the US drone attack which also claimed Hajj Abu Mahdi Al-Muhanis, the former deputy chief of Hashd Shaabi Committee, after targeting their convoy near Baghdad airport.
