House Speaker Nabih Berri stressed that the Finance portfolio is devoted, according to Taif Agreement, to the Shia sect, calling on the doubters to review the agreement.

Hezbollah and Amal Movement will not participate in the new government if the finance portfolio will not be in their ministerial portion, Speaker Berri said.

Speaker Berri considered that some parties are trying to frustrate the French initiative aimed at ending the current crisis in Lebanon, wondering about the reason of the insistence on selecting a non-Shia finance minister.
