Former Hezbollah minister Mohammad Fneish warned against attempts to delay the parliamentary elections, stressing that the Lebanese resistance party opposes such move.
In a local memorial service on Monday, Fneish said that attempts to amend the electoral law under the pretext of expatriate rights” are actually aimed at postponing the elections,” stressing full rejection to this move.
“Elections represent the will of the people. Any external influence on expatriates constitutes a violation of sovereignty and equality in competition,” the Hezbollah official said in Al-Mujtaba Complex, in Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh.
Meanwhile, he called on the Lebanese State to shoulder responsibility regarding the Israeli attacks and to fulfill its pledges related to reconstruction and compensation for those affected by the Israeli aggression.
“The Lebanese State’s limited resources do not absolve it of its responsibilities towards citizens.”
Meanwhile, he slammed those who link between disarming the resistance and recovering rights.
“Justifying the Israeli attacks or talks about the resistance weapons is a cover for the Israeli aggression,” Fneish stated.
