In a high-stakes diplomatic meeting, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, delivering a direct message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
The pivotal talks in Moscow come in the wake of a resounding victory for the Axis of Resistance, which saw the occupying Israeli regime sue for peace after a punishing military confrontation with the Islamic Republic.

Larijani, who also serves as a senior adviser to the Leader, discussed a range of critical issues with President Putin, including bolstering bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and the significant shifts in the regional balance of power following recent events.
The meeting followed a revealing statement from President Putin last week, in which he disclosed that Israeli authorities, through Moscow, had begged for de-escalation. “We receive signals from Israeli leadership asking that this be conveyed to our Iranian friends that Israel intends and is determined to further resolve the issue, and is not interested in any form of confrontation,” Putin stated at the Central Asia-Russia summit.
This Israeli plea for calm follows a decisive 12-day war, triggered on June 13 by an unprovoked aggression from the occupation regime. During the Israeli aggression, the regime carried out a campaign of assassinations against top commanders and nuclear scientists, while also killing hundreds of innocent civilians across the country. In a blatant breach of international law, the United States directly intervened by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites.
The war reached its conclusion on June 24, not through negotiation, but by force. Crushing retaliatory strikes by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic targeted both Israeli and American positions with such precision and power that the Tel Aviv regime was forced to halt its aggression and enter into a unilateral ceasefire.
The delivery of Imam Khamenei’s message to the Kremlin at this juncture underscores Iran’s strengthened hand and the new strategic reality in the region, where the resistance front has proven its ability to deter even the most aggressive adversaries.
