Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance in Lebanon expressed full support for Hamas’s position on the US-backed ceasefire proposal, which was formulated in coordination with other Palestinian resistance factions. In an official statement, the group described Hamas’s stance as both responsible and principled, reflecting a genuine commitment to ending Israel’s ongoing aggression against Gaza while upholding the core tenets of the Palestinian national cause.
“This position, while driven by a strong desire to halt the savage Israeli assault on our people in Gaza, simultaneously reaffirms an unwavering adherence to the Palestinian cause and the inalienable rights of its people,” the statement read.
Hezbollah emphasized that Hamas’s response reflects a unified Palestinian resistance front, rooted in national consensus and legitimacy. It also stressed that any future negotiations must be based on collective Palestinian agreement and must aim to secure a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, prevent the displacement of its population, and enable the Palestinian people to govern their own political, security, and civil affairs independently. The statement rejected any form of external guardianship over Gaza, regardless of its form or origin.
Additionally, Hezbollah urged all Arab and Islamic nations to stand firmly behind the Palestinian people, to support Hamas and all Palestinian resistance factions, and to mobilize efforts at every level to stop Israeli aggression in both Gaza and the West Bank.
The Lebanese group concluded by calling for immediate efforts to prevent further forced displacement, facilitate the reconstruction of Gaza, and ensure the restoration of all legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.
