South Lebanon is preparing to embrace a usual democratic event on Saturday, May 24, represented by the municipal and mayoral elections despite the escalating Israeli attacks attempting to sabotage the entire scene.
The two governorates of Nabatieh and South Lebanon will witness the vote with numerous lists of candidates having won by acclamation.
The polling stations received the ballot boxes from the interior ministry in the context of the preparations for the elections.
South Lebanon will be the fourth round of municipal elections which have been conducted during this month across Lebanon. Hezbollah-backed lists have won in all the contests they engaged in.
What distinguishes the elections in South Lebanon is that it is accompanied by daily Israeli attacks which were escalated by the enemy on Thursday. Moreover, on Friday, Israeli air raids targeted Shamaa and Deir Antar towns, while an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on Aita Al-Shaab, with no casualties recorded.
Al-Manar reporter indicated that Israeli gunfire hit a civilian car in Kfarkila border town, South Lebanon, and that the driver remained safe.
