Coinciding with the prisoners’ arrival, Israeli occupation forces attacked the families who had gathered to welcome their loved ones in Beitunia, west of Ramallah. The Palestinian Red Crescent reported two injuries from Israeli gunfire.
Despite the occupation’s efforts to dampen the mood, the cities of the West Bank erupted in celebration upon the release of the prisoners. Families joyously reunited with those who had endured incarceration in Israeli prisons.

However, the Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Authority warned that the occupation authorities may be manipulating the agreed-upon list of prisoners, potentially withholding some names.

Hamas’s Prisoners’ Office previously stated that the process of checking the names inside Ofer prisons showed that there was a shortage of female prisoners. He added that communication is being made with mediators and the Red Cross to oblige the occupation to abide by the agreed-upon list of prisoners, indicating that within a short time, buses of released prisoners will depart from Ofer prison.
