Three Lebanese citizens were martyred in an Israeli strike on Bint Jbeil, an escalation staged by the Zionist occupation against Lebanon and Hezbollah resistance group.
The strike, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, targeted a house in the Lebanese border town, killing two brothers and a woman.
Lebanese health sources identified the martyrs as Ali Bazzi, 30, Ibrahim Bazzi, 27, and the latter’s wife, Shurouk Hammoud.
The sources said that rescue teams spent hours before managing to pull the bodies of the martyrs from the rubble of the destroyed house.
The two brothers hold dual nationality (Lebanese and Australian), Australian media reported, adding that Ibrahim came to Lebanon just few days ago and was returning back to Australia with his wife Shurouk.
“Two Australian brothers are among those who have died following a suspected air strike on a town in the south of Lebanon,” The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The Israeli enemy has been recently stepping up aggression against Lebanon with air strikes and shelling targeting towns at the border with occupied Palestine, as well as towns that are relatively far from the border.
Earlier on Tuesday, an Israeli strike targeted the southern town of Jibshit, near Nabatieh, local media reported. Jibshit lies 20 kms away from Palestine border.
