President of the World Bank, David Malpass, stressed Wednesday that “we are together to help Lebanon get out of the humanitarian crisis it is experiencing,” adding that “the Lebanese are suffering from an ‘intended collapse’ because the cause of this crisis is the abuse of many previous governments and their supporters.”
He underlined that “Lebanon needs a government that emphasizes transparency, human rights, and an accountability system that affects all institutions.”
Malpass remarks came during the Conference for Supporting Lebanon and the Lebanese which started in Paris at 1:00pm today with French President, Emmanuel Macron’s speech.
