The Lebanese ministry of public health issued on Friday its daily report in which it announced 213 new coronavirus cases, 198 of them for locals and 15 for the arrivals, raising total to 535181.
According to the report, 17 new coronavirus-related death cases were registered, which raised toll to 7586.
Lebanon has continued the anti-coronavirus vaccination campaign across all the provinces as the batches of vaccines are scheduled to arrive in Beirut gradually. In this context, the report noted that 373328 citizens received the first shot of the vaccine, adding that the second shot have been given to 190402 of them.
Meanwhile, the director-general at Rafik Hariri University Hospital, Dr. Firas Abiad, said on the same day that RHUH will close one of its four Covid ICU units, a result of the decreasing Covid cases in Lebanon, urging the citizens to keep committed to the antivirus measures.
