The talks between Hamas and the Israeli occupation on a prisoner swap deal has been suspended, Lebanese daily Al-Akhbar reported.
One week after an Egyptian intelligence delegation visited the Gaza Strip and the occupied territories, the negotiations on a prisoner exchange deal between the two sides has been suspended due to disagreements, the paper quoted a Hamas source as saying.
However, the source noted that progress has been made during talks.
Asked about the nature of the progress, the source said that the Palestinian Resistance voiced readiness to release information on the Israeli captives in exchange of setting the Palestinian elders, patients and women free.
“That offer was hindered since the Israeli occupation set conditions,” the daily quoted the source as saying.
