The Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Monday said that Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s remarks on the possibility of reconsidering his own resignation was a “positive” indicator.
Visitors to the President at the Presidential Palace quoted Aoun as saying: “Hariri’s hints that he might reconsider his resignation is something positive.”
Hariri made a televised interview on Sunday, one week after controversially quitting his post as premier.
Speaker of the House Nabih Berri also commented on Hariri’s statements, saying, “Refraining from resignation is a just act.”
Hariri announced on November 4 from Riyadh his resignation as a premier in a televised address in which he appeared very tense while reading a statement, which raised prolific questions about the reasons behind his step.
It is worth noting that Hariri was carrying out regularly his scheduled tasks before he was summoned by the Saudi officials to urgently move to Riyadh where he shockingly announced his resignation.
